After the Sentinel Jué descended, the Tacet Discord tide of the Norfall Barren stirred and harried Mengzhou. Hsin took counsel with the frontier court, and the Zhuojun Hall built the Abyss City on the land of Xuanfang.
As the tide grew worse, Hsin led the soldiers and people of Mengzhou against the Tacet Discords.
Mengzhou's struggle against the tide became a stalemate, and as the situation grew ever more dire, Hsin resolved to build Xuanfang Hold.
Hsin went to the Xuanfang frontier herself to build the city, assisted by Jiting.

As Xuanfang Hold neared completion, the Battle of Yunyuan broke out. The garrison of the Abyss City and a great many Xuanling birds chose to perish with the city to stop the tide.
When Xuanfang Hold was complete, Hsin appeared before people less and less, and seemed no longer to attend the Moonrise Festival.

A traditional festival of Mengzhou. One account says it began in memory of the legend of the divine fox who saved Mengzhou, and there are many rumors and tales about Hsin the Moon Fox.
For instance, whenever dark clouds hide the moon on the night of the Moonrise Festival, the Sentinel appears, carries up ten thousand lanterns to mend the moon, lights the night sky, and makes merry with everyone. Or, if someone is separated from family and friends during the festival, a little fox runs out from some street corner and leads them back together...
It seems that everyone who feels lonely at the Moonrise Festival meets a little fox that "happens" to appear and leads them to a gathering made whole.
Several historical sources agree that Hsin once appeared at almost every Moonrise Festival, but after the Battle of Yunyuan her appearances clearly became fewer.

A small charitable group formed by the people themselves. It holds gatherings now and then, where members shout their motto together and encourage and support one another.
Its members believe that the Moon Fox has lit the lantern that guides them forward, and that as long as everyone helps one another, every difficulty can be overcome.
One of the sweets every household in Mengzhou makes: chewy but not sticky, soft but not cloying. The ones made by Yue's are the most famous, and even the Moon Fox is quite fond of them.
It is said that at the Moonrise Festival, the Sentinel in her fox form is drawn by this sweet scent.
The people of Mengzhou also add different toppings as their families like, and there are recipes for over a hundred kinds of rice cake. Curiously, every family claims its own recipe is the Moon Fox's favorite.
Hsin, a merrymaker among the Sentinels, once teased another Sentinel with a night of chasing during celebration. This joyous scene, as they were silhouetted against the mid-autumn moonlight, gave rise to the term "Moon-Chasing."
